Orchard Place was our first ‘flexi-flat’ scheme – using an exciting new design concept to make them adaptable to people’s changing lifestyle needs.
These smart, modern one-bedroom flats, were built on the redundant site of a former bakery, just behind the high street in the popular village of Stonehouse, near Stroud with excellent access to public transport.
They were particularly designed to appeal to people in their 20s and 30s. The flexi- element offers a generous, larger-than-average living area as a one-bedroom flat, yet allows sufficient space to add a second bedroom, with minimal disruption, as people’s needs change.
In addition to the clever use of internal space, these flats include useful storage areas, extra glazing to make the most of natural light, high ceilings, energy-efficiency measures to make the homes cheaper to run and more environmentally-friendly, bicycle storage and good communal space outside.
There are 11 flats in the scheme, built over three floors.
